Pozón is a river-day book for fly anglers fishing for trout across Argentine and Chilean Patagonia. Answers to the most common questions are below — if yours isn't here, send it through the form at the bottom of the page.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I start a river day?
- On the River day tab, tap Start a river day. Pick the river, type or choose the stretch, set the water read and the first fly you're tying on. You can turn on a reminder to close out the day in the evening.
- What is the water read?
- It's your own judgement of the water that day: clear, tinted or murky, and low, normal or high. Tap the row any time during the day to update it as the river changes.
- How do I log a fish quickly?
- Tap Log a fish. Species, length and the fly on your tippet are pre-filled from your last catch, so most of the time you only drag the length ruler and tap Into the book. Attaching a photo is optional.
- What does "Lost it" do?
- It removes one fly of that pattern from your fly box count and records the loss against the day, so it shows up on your tying list. Pick the next fly by tapping the tippet row.
- How does the tying list work?
- Every pattern in your fly box has a stock level you set. Once the count drops below it, the shortfall appears in Fly box → Tying list. Tap Tied once you've restocked it, or share the list before a tying night.
- Why doesn't Pozón show season dates or bag limits?
- Fishing rules change from year to year and differ between Argentine provinces, national parks and Chile. Pozón states none of its own — every river card links straight to the relevant authority's own official page instead, so anglers always read the current source.
- Does Pozón work without a signal?
- Yes. Every screen except the Official rules pages works fully offline, and nothing an angler logs is ever uploaded anywhere.
- Where do milestones come from?
- They're calculated from an angler's own closed river days — species landed, fish released, rivers fished and days logged. They're on the Season tab.
- Can I start fresh?
- Settings → Start an empty book clears the sample season and any entries an angler has made. Restore the sample season brings the examples back.
- What data does Pozón collect?
